Alive Magazine encourages YOU to express yourself! Whether you find yourself picking up the pen to write or draw, we want to see what makes you come ALIVE! The contest is for both writers and artists, with one winner of each to be published in the Summer '08 issue of the magazine.
All types of artwork and writings are encouraged! If you created it, we want to see it. Poetry, personal essays, comic strips, collages, travel stories, and watercolors are only a sample of submissions we've received in the past. We love anything that reflects your voice and what makes you come alive. Submissions may be emailed to expressyourself@alivemagazine.org. Please, one submission per person for this contest. For details about additional submissions outside of the contest, refer to the Submissions page on our website.
All entries should address the question “How would you change the world, if given the opportunity?” which is the focus of our Imagine column. Artwork may be ink, canvas, digital or any 2-dimensional representations of original artwork. Scanned images must be a minimum of 300 dpi resolution. Writings should be between 200 & 2,000 words (or 50-500 for poetry submissions).
Simply submit your piece of work along with your name, e-mail address, age, grade, and school which you attend to expressyourself@alivemagazine.org, or hard copies to the address listed below by April 1, 2008. Winners will be announced via e-mail.
